About Us

First Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church with a long history of active ministry in the town of Tehachapi, and involvement with mission activities throughout our state, nation and world. We are a part of the Kern County Southern Baptist Association. Located in the "Land of Four Seasons" just 45 minutes east of Bakersfield, we are in the midst of a growing, mountain community. Close to Southern California and the Central Valley of California, we are a just a short drive from the High Desert town of Mojave and just north of Lancaster.
As a church, we are a body of believers committed to worshipping and serving Jesus Christ. As a Southern Baptist Church, we join with our sister churches in spreading the gospel around the world through ministries into which He leads us.
